Editorial Policy

Balangkas: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing practices. The journal follows the following editorial policies:

Open Access

Balangkas: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal is an open-access journal, which means that all articles are freely accessible to readers worldwide. Authors retain the copyright of their work, but grant the journal the right to publish and distribute their articles.

Article Processing Charge

The journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of $100 for international authors and  ₱4,500.00 for Filipino authors to cover the costs associated with publishing and disseminating the articles. The APC is payable upon acceptance of the article for publication. Waivers or discounts may be considered on a case-by-case basis for authors who demonstrate financial hardship.

For all accepted papers submitted on or before December 31, 2024, the APC will be waived.

Plagiarism

Balangkas: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal strictly prohibits plagiarism in any form. The journal uses plagiarism detection software to screen all submissions and may reject articles with significant similarities to previously published work without proper citation.

Data Falsification

The journal expects authors to report accurate and reliable data in their research articles. Any evidence of data falsification or fabrication will be taken seriously and may result in the rejection of the article or even the retraction of previously published articles.

Ethics and Consent

Authors are required to adhere to ethical guidelines in their research involving human subjects, animals, and plants. Research involving human subjects must be approved by an appropriate ethics committee, and informed consent must be obtained from all participants.

Research involving human, animals and plants

Authors must ensure that their research involving human subjects, animals, and plants complies with relevant ethical guidelines and regulations. The journal may request additional information or documentation to verify the ethical conduct of the research.

Authorship and Contributions

Authors must clearly state their contributions to the research and ensure that all contributors are appropriately acknowledged. The journal follows the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) recommendations for authorship and contributions.

Conflicting Interests

Authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their research. The journal may request additional information or documentation to verify the absence of conflicts of interest.

Duplicate Publication

The journal does not accept duplicate publication of research findings. Authors must ensure that their submissions are original and have not been previously published or are currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Corrections and Retractions

In the event of errors or inaccuracies in published articles, the journal may issue corrections or retractions as necessary. The journal follows the guidelines provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for handling corrections and retractions.

Appeals and Complaints

Authors have the right to appeal any decisions made by the journal regarding their submissions. The journal also welcomes feedback and complaints from readers and will address any concerns in a timely and transparent manner.
